The Softball Juniors Division is a competitive softball league for primarily 13-14 year olds, and 12 year olds who have played at least 1 seasons of Majors.
As in all MLL divisions, managers emphasize fundamentals, teamwork, player development and fun. In Majors, players pitch and walks are allowed. There is no maximum-run-per-inning rule is in place. There is a 10 run game ending mercy rule though. Scores are kept, outs are recorded, and the results can be reported on the MLL website. No hitting or pitching statistics are published however.
Juniors plays an interleague schedule against the teams in District 2 and against IPGSA. This means there will be travel to various other towns. See the list of teams in our district here. It also means the season will start in early April and end in mid June.
Players who register for the Juniors must attend an evaluation. Evaluations are listed on the website calendar. Specific times will be published on the website and updates will be emailed to players that have registered for Majors. The purpose of the assessments is to ensure that players are registered for the division that best matches their playing level and to assist in forming balanced teams within each division. Players who desire to be on a Juniors team but are deemed at a Majors quality level will be placed on a Majors team.
Juniors teams will play against District 2 and IPGSA teams and so away games will have some travel involved.
Players in the Juniors Division are eligible for selection to an All-Star Team (if District 2 has enough eligible teams) that will participate in a post-season tournament at the District level and potentially at the State level in July.
Players ages 13 to 14 in the season of play. See the Little League Age Chart or LL Age Calculator for more information. Players must live or attend school within the geographic boundaries defined for MLL.

You provide: shoes/cleats and glove
Some parents choose to purchase a helmet or bat for their player which is fine. Face shields are required for helmets per IPGSA rules. You will want to make sure the helmet meets the NOCSAE standard and that the bat meets the new Little League sanctioned bat standard.
